This exceptional uniquely rare table was especially hand crafted for a very famous TV & Film actor.
The world famous Sid James.
Sidney James (born Solomon Joel Cohen; 8 May 1913 – 26 April 1976) was a South African-British actor and comedian whose career encompassed radio, television, stage and screen. Noted for his distinct dirty laugh, he was best known for numerous roles in the Carry On film series.
We obtained this wonderful table from his daughter, Sue James, who was a producer of the Teletubbies Children’s TV program.
Has you can imagine, the quality of this table, is unmatched anywhere.
The cost of this many years ago would of been vast, as you can imagine.
Solid Marble is very expensive especially of this quality.
It’s truly a solid Marble table top, and is incredibly heavy.
The stories & dinner parties this table must of hosted over the years is certainly something for the imagination to let wander.
& who must of sat at this very table over the years…….. ?

This is NOT a plastic covered concrete table, available in many local shops nowadays & marketed as Marble.
When these are just concrete with a plastic wrapper.

The Farrow & Ball:
Pitch Black: No. 256 colour, Gloss.
A true black.
Pitch Black is as pure a black as you can get and is strong and uncomplicated in all lights. Named after the dark sticky residue of coal tar often used in roofing, this true black has an unsurpassable depth and almost velvet quality. As with All White at the other end of our colour palette, it is easy to understand and indispensable for ironwork & woodwork.

This style of finish is not just a weak common unprofessional painted finish.
This is a professional modern environmentally safe AC two pack lacquer finish. This is the very strongest finish that can be applied to furniture safely which only true professionals can perform and carry out.
Please be aware of simply just “painted finishes” straight from a paint pot without the correct application methods. These will not have the durability required for furniture especially on table bases and dining chairs and will simply flake, damage & wear very easily. It must be a finish like this for a paint Farrow & Ball colour, as the table base & chairs will no doubt face heavy wear & use over time. Using only this method of finish on these areas and items will insure it keeps its stunning looks and colour for many years to come.

These wonderful dining chairs, were actually done by us originally for an exclusive world famous film company.

The chair frames were originally made by the world Famous Charles Barr of Harrods, London some years ago. So are exceptionality well hand crafted using only the very finest methods of construction & materials.
The company have now finished filming & using them & have now come back t0 us to be sold.
We have refreshed, refurbished, re French polished & re Lacquer finished them.
They are in stunning condition with only a few minor imperfections to note.
On a particular corner of one chair, the genuine White leather hide, has a slight nick, which has been touched up by us. We have added photos of this to show.
All the leather has been professionally cleaned by us & is nye on in great condition as they were hardly used.
More just a prop for filming purposes.
