‘Flame‘ or ‘crotch-cut’ mahogany is cut at the crotch where a limb protruded from the trunk of the tree, producing a flame-like figuring: It is a cutting technique also used with other fine hardwoods, including walnut, and is extremely expensive, given the small number of major limbs on any trunk.
This table is of the very highest quality from the materials used & by the way its been hand constructed by highly skilled English Cabinet makers.
Its in the classic, elegant Regency style & comes with an exceptionally attractive base, which compliments the top beautifully, with each turned leg ending in brass castors,
In wonderful showroom condition.
It will be French polished in the traditional natural warm mahogany colour to show off the beautiful movement in the burr and will have that amazing deep lustrous shine & gleam to it that still only hand French polishing can achieve using the very finest modern table top French Polishes & materials to obtain the stunning finish we desire, which also now give quite a hard & heat resistant finish compared to the old French Polishes of the past.
This table has been finely constructed by English cabinet makers using all there skills to great effect.
