A magnificent exquisite and quite simply stunning Grand Antique Victorian 1831-1901 solid Oak Grand dining table with 6 add in table leaves.
This huge table has been photographed in its original raw condition, but will be professionally French polished by our highly skilled team, all exclusively included in the final sale price.
We’ve added photos of a huge Solid Walnut table that we also had, that was fully finished to portray has that magnificent table will look once fully finished.
It’s a truly magnificent example of the classic Victorian period.
Where Oak was favoured for the fashionable dining room, although dining tables were still generally in mahogany, with boldly fluted chunky legs.
The Victorians introduced dining tables that extended by means of a cranking action and a mechanism of interlocking bearers that did away with the need for excessive numbers of legs:
Most have 5 or 6 if very large.
It’s been finely constructed by English cabinet makers using all there skills to great effect with the extra leafs & table connecting with brass clips.
It is thought that this table was originally made in London between 1831-1901
And has stayed in the capital all it’s life until now. It’s believed to had Royalty dining at this exact table over the years!
This very attractive table will very comfortably seat up to 20 people plus, has you can see from a few of the photos & would make an excellent new addition.
